Welcome to my photography website!

I’ve been taking pictures all my life starting with my dad’s 1960’s Nikon Nikkormat SLR. At the tender age of 11 (or 12 or 13) I was intrigued by shutter speeds, aperture, depth of field and what makes a great photograph. As an artist, this was a new medium I just had to explore! It wasn’t until about 5 years ago I rediscovered my passion for photography. I am completely self-taught and have devoted a lot of time into learning to create the level of photographs you see here.

I am from the coastal area of South Carolina and enjoy shooting everyday objects here in the Lowcountry. I find beauty and tranquility in the many historic areas including cemeteries and historical ruins. I go poking into places most people wouldn’t venture. There’s usually something interesting to be found and photographed. That’s why urban exploration is my new love. I’ve been known to brave snakes, thorny shrubs, barbed wired fences and run from a swarm of Yellow jackets to get “the shot”.

I shoot almost all of my photographs in HDR or “High Dynamic Range”. HDR is multiple exposures of the same shot. The shots are then layered with software to bring out the true lights and darks (and most often moody tones depicted in my scenes).

I now proudly shoot exclusively with Canon Bodies and lenses (sorry dad!)
